Alcohol is a commonly used cleaning agent in our lives. For example, wiping the glass screen of a mobile phone works well, but it may not be a good choice when dealing with acrylic sheets.
Can the acrylic sheet be cleaned with alcohol? First give a negative answer
Acrylic sheet is made by casting or extrusion technology from raw materials melted at high temperature. PMMA is its main component and it begins to melt above 150 degrees.
The alcohol solvent is a highly volatile liquid, it can quickly evaporate at room temperature, and absorb a lot of heat to make the surrounding temperature drop rapidly. Alcohol is used on the acrylic sheet to decompose in the air, resulting in high temperature and thermal expansion, and after the alcohol volatilizes, it will cool down and shrink, which may cause the acrylic sheet to burst.
If it is, therefore, for general dust treatment, you can use chicken blankets or water, and then wipe with a soft cloth. If you want to treat surface grease, you can add water with a soft detergent and wipe with a soft cloth. In addition, if the product has scratches or the surface wear is not too serious, you can try to use a polishing machine or a car roaster with cloth wheels, immerse in an appropriate amount of liquid polishing wax, and evenly polish it to improve.
Acrylic bending is also called hot bending, which refers to baking the acrylic in a high-temperature oven until it is softened, and then placing it on a curved mold to shape it. After it cools, it will have a shape. If the operation is improper during bending, not only the desired effect will not be achieved, but also warping deformation will occur.
The occurrence of warping deformation not only causes waste of materials and working hours, but also serious product scrap, so what can be prevented and remedied? Dido Acrylic Processing Factory will share with you: the solution of warping deformation during acrylic bending processing.
Cause Analysis
There are three reasons for the warping and deformation of the acrylic display stand during the bending process:
1. The mold is damaged or warped, causing deformation;
2. The speed is not fast enough, the acrylic is not completely bent, and the acrylic has cooled and hardened;
3. The thickness of acrylic is too thick to completely draw out the shape, or too long is deformed due to the flexibility of acrylic itself.
solution
1. Check whether the mold is damaged or deformed in advance. If the mold is damaged, replace the mold;
2. The bending and sculpting speed must be fast. If it is deformed, it can be baked again to soften and reshape it;
3. The characteristics of the material itself should be fully considered in product design to avoid the above situation.
