Analyze Several Methods Of Bonding Acrylic Products

The bonding of acrylic sheets is an important part of the processing of acrylic products. Due to the improper operation of the glue during the bonding process of acrylic products, it is easy to cause bubbles. Once bubbles appear during the operation, the previous work and resources are all It was wasted. So how can we better show the clear and transparent characteristics of acrylic and show the value of acrylic crafts? How to maximize the grade and value of acrylic crafts? Adhesive technology has played a vital role. There are two main reasons that affect acrylic bonding, one is the type of adhesive, and the other is the bonding technique. There are many kinds of adhesives on the market, but there are only two types used for acrylic, one is single-component, such as oxygen imitation; the other is two-component, such as double-sided tape. In addition, the bonding skills are also very important. The following describes the bonding skills and precautions of several acrylic products

1. Facade bonding

Facade bonding is the most widely used bonding technique, and it is also the most commonly used in the manufacture of various acrylic products. The first thing to do is to scrub the surface of the acrylic that needs to be bonded. In order to prevent the bonding object from shaking, the master can be used to achieve bonding. This operation is conducive to improving the quality of bonding. For cross-section bonding with a thickness of less than 3mm, you can directly use a syringe to write the glue uniformly and slowly from one side, and illuminate it with an ultraviolet curing lamp for 3-5 minutes to complete the bonding. For bonding with a thickness greater than 3mm, thin metal wires can be inserted, and the sizing is completed by the principle of capillary effect. After sizing, the metal wires are drawn out before irradiating with the ultraviolet curing lamp, or the parts that do not need to be stuck can be taped for maintenance , Leave the glued area coated with glue, and then diagonally put it into the acrylic board to squeeze out the bubbles. Use a UV curing lamp to illuminate for 3-5 minutes to complete the bonding.

2. Docking

Place the two acrylic plates that need to be butted together horizontally on the operating table, and then put tape on the bottom, leaving a gap not greater than 0.3mm wide for use of the adhesive, and then use a syringe to inject the adhesive evenly into In the gap, until it is fully filled, the tape can be removed after it is completely fixed.

3. Bevel bonding

The bonding slope must have a 90-degree profiling model, so as to avoid the displacement of the bonded surface during the operation. The glue should be applied evenly and slowly. Use a UV curing lamp to illuminate for 3-5 minutes to complete the bonding. Remove the master mold after it is completely cured.

4. Plane bonding

Plane bonding is a special method of contrast. First, scrub the sticky surface clean, place it horizontally, and apply glue on it. Place the other side of the acrylic board diagonally to touch the glued acrylic, then put it down evenly and slowly, squeeze out the bubbles from one side or use a clamp to discharge the bubbles. Use a UV curing lamp to illuminate for 3-5 minutes to complete the bonding.

Precautions:

1: All adhesives will corrode the acrylic material and leave traces that are difficult to remove. Therefore, other places should be protected during the bonding process to prevent accidental corrosion of the acrylic material during the operation.

2: Air holes, grease, dust in the air will affect the paste effect, so these must be removed when bonding.

3: Do not blow directly when bonding, which will cause the adhesive to volatilize quickly and cause the acrylic sheet to turn white

4: Before the adhesive is completely cured, it should not be exposed to strong sunlight. This will cause the acrylic products to turn yellow to varying degrees, which will seriously affect the appearance of the acrylic.
